Joel Meyerowitz
I found that the same artist photo i previously used could also be a response to this photo of mine. This was because of the similar composition to Meyerowitz's. Like in Meyerowitz's photo, i captured traditional and contemporary in the same photo. Contemporary being in the foreground and the traditional in the background. Similarly Meyerowitz captured a bus (traditional) and a modern and contemporary building in the background. I also found both photo's have similar tones and contrasts. For example the modern buildings are dark and the older buildings look 'spooky' and overshadowed by the modern artwork. Both photo's are also based on a light blue background, here being the sky. However, in my photo there is no rule of thirds in terms of three buildings, so the tree acts as a third object. This could possibly show either traditional or contemporary, because of the variation of the ages of trees. Although visually, my photo shows a clear response to Meyerowitz.
