Unit 3- Brief

For my response to the topic of contructed imagery, I'm going to photograph dolls and self-create the relevent scenes to position the dolls, to show life issues, that happen in real life. Specifically, I am going to portray issues in life through the use of dolls and their environment. For example, in response to Laurie Simmons I will explore the roles in the home of different family members and what effects this has on the rest of the family. I will also look into using dolls to create a shock factor; I will use barbies as a development from basis dolls to show this. Barbies have an image of being the 'perfect' female and a 'idealistic' and 'innocent' girls toy. Therefore, i will role reverse this, and made it much more lifelike. Once again, I will aim to keep to my idea of showing real life issues in (for example) teenage girls, by using the barbies.
