IDEA 2- Second Response to Naoya Hatakeyama

I feel that out of my three responses to Hatakeyama, this is my least successful. This is because the modern building that i edited into the photo does not look real, because it is at a slight angle. In order to overcome this, i attempted to rotate the photo shopped building right, however because its base is already flat, it only lifted up the bottom left corner. I also think the building on the right doesn't have defined edges as it descends into the background, because of how the photo was layered. This was because after i erased around the modern building the sky was left very bright and white, so i layered in another photo which had a blue sky, i then erased out the rest of the photo, leaving only a blue sky. However i could not define the edge around the top of the building because this only brought out the white sky, or didn't show the edges of the building; hence the white lines. However, in terms of response to Hatakeyama and the concept of the photo it is clear. This is because i photo shopped the modern building in to insert a third building (rule of thirds) and the depth of field is great, fading into the foreground. However i feel this photo does not directly emphasise the topic of contemporary and traditional architecture, so i will not use it as a final piece.
